- Create, implement, and analyze social science research of concern to members of our community;
- Present the findings of this research to interested community members;
- Train future generations of social scientists in the creation, implementation, analysis, and presentation of appropriate research methodologies.
ISR Mission
What We Do at ISR
Conduct research on a wide variety of topics, from consumer confidence and economic expectations to voting behavior, teen drug use, aging, and family dynamics. In short, we conduct research that is of interest to members of our community;
Train researchers and students in quantitative, qualitative, mixed methodologies and other appropriate research techniques;
Establish partnerships with corporations, government entities and other profit/non-profit organizations to help research agendas and train researchers of the future.
Funding
Contracted federal, state and/or local grants for research.
Contract business and organizations to conduct various types of research studies.
Private contributors for the advancement of ISR goal.
Book
The UT Institute for Social Research: Quality of Life Intiative, Volume 1 is an annual journal that provides the research results from studies completed by past students in the Institute for Social Research under the guidance from faculty within the Applied Sociology Program.
