When a D# has been received, before I can add the faculty to classes, I need to make them a faculty member in SIAINST.

1.       Type in ID and Term they will be teaching

2.       Faculty Member Base Details Block:

• Status=AC (Active)
• Check Faculty box
• Category=
  • ADJINS – Adjunct Instructor (PT)
  • INST – Instructor (FT)
• Staff Type=
  • PT – Part Time
  • FT – Full Time
• Workload Rules=
  • PT – Part Time
  • FT – Full Time

3.       Faculty Contract Block:

• Part Time:
  • AD – Adjunct [+insert]
    • Select Default Indicator for PT
  • HC – Headcount [+insert]
    • This allows pay to be adjusted for prorated classes (generally, classes under 10 students)
  • NC – Non-compensated [+insert]
    • This allows non-compensated pay for classes taught during the same timeperiod, or classes with different meeting times (one will be non-compensated), etc.
  • WA – Wait for Enrollment Info
    • This allows the instructor to delay their payroll (e.g., if they teach a ‘B’ block course).
• Full Time
  • FT – Full time
    • Select Default Indicator for FT
  • AD – Adjunct [+insert]
    • Summer pay is paid as Adjunct (since it’s overload). FT instructors, for summer, need to have pay listed as ‘AD’.
  • HC – Headcount [+insert]
    • This allows pay to be adjusted for prorated classes (generally, classes under 10 students)
  • NC – Non-compensated [+insert]
    • This allows non-compensated pay for classes taught during the same timeperiod, or classes with different meeting times (one will be non-compensated), etc.
  • WA – Wait for Enrollment Info
    • This allows the instructor to delay their payroll (e.g., if they teach a ‘B’ block course).

4.       Faculty College and Department Block:

• Select Home
• College=FA – Fine Arts
• Department=(whichever applies)
  • ART – Art
  • MUSC – Music
  • THEA – Dance, Digital Film & Theatre
• Percentage=100%

5.       [F10] Save

 

Now the FT or PT faculty is ready to be added into courses in SSASECT
