Utah Tech University IRB

Mandatory Online CITI Certifications

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) is dedicated to serving the training needs of colleges and universities, healthcare institutions, technology and research organizations, and governmental agencies, as they foster integrity and professional advancement of their learners. There is no cost for CITI training for UT faculty, staff, and students.

All IRB applications will be returned without review if any key study personnel (e.g. principal investigator, co-investigators, key personnel, faculty advisor, etc.) on a study does not have current CITI training certificates. However, if you are conducting a collaboration with a co-investigator from another university, their own university IRB required CITI is appropriate for your application submission and they do not need to complete UT’s CITI requirements. You will need to submit their CITI documents from their institution with your application.

Click on “CITI Program” tab after you have reviewed the CITI Training Tutorial and CITI Training documents below.

CITI Documents

There is no cost for UT faculty, staff, and students. If CITI prompts you for payment, re-read the training tutorial document and follow the steps.

PIs: You are responsible for updating your certifications, which expire after 3 years. You will need to include your completed refresher certificate in your application packet.
